Children’s Heart Unit Fund

The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (Chuf) has been offering support to children and families who receive cardiac treatment in the North East for nearly 50 years and we, at the Barbour Foundation, are proud to support their cause. The pioneering services they support and provide have helped many sick children lead more normal and fulfilling lives.  For the Barbour Foundation’s support of their Neonatal Cardiac Physiotherapy Specialist, Chuf has generously awarded us their first Changemakers in Innovation award! The award is shared with the Shears Foundation who also made a grant that supports the UK’s only specialist of this type.

Chuf is incredibly grateful for the support that The Barbour Foundation provides. Over the years they’ve supported Chuf in bringing cutting-edge equipment and groundbreaking specialist services to the Children’s Heart Unit that can’t be found anywhere else in the UK. The Barbour Foundation are valued members of Chuf’s Changemaking community. We look forward to continuing to work together into the future to be there for Heart Heroes and their families when it matters most.
